The purchaser of Ledcameroch in May 1937 was Professor McNee’s wife Geraldine. She is described as an expert gardener, very involved in the Episcopal Church in Scotland and a descendant of the Hobson of Hobson’s Choice
Professor McNee was Regius Professor of Practice of Medicine at the University of Glasgow from 1936 to 1953. He served in both World Wars, during the First as Pathologist to the British First Army in France and as Surgeon Rear-Admiral and Consulting Physician to the Navy in Scotland during the Second. Professor McNee was Physician to the King in Scotland from 1937 to 1952 and was knighted in 1951.
